One Room Challenge: Week 2

Well, this first week of my dining room transformation has flown by, but I'm happy to report things are moving along and I've crossed a few "to do's" off my list.  If you're joining me for the first time, you can see my original One Room Challenge post here .  The first big project was refinishing our dining room table.  It originally looked like this, all white and high gloss:

And this is the look I wanted:
Love the table!
I had to enlist the help of the Handy Husband to take the table top off and construct a new top using new boards that we distressed and stained. We loosely followed the instructions from Ana White's blog (I will give a detailed "How To" post at a later date). I painted the table base and legs SW Dover White, the same color as our kitchen island.  Here's a sneak peak of the new table...

My new rug is the Herringbone Jute Natural Fiber Rug from Ballard Designs . They're having a 15% sale on rugs through October 21st.
A small gray cabinet (from my kitchen) was brought in to put next to the mantle...

Blue curtains (that I already had) from Pottery Barn (no longer available) and new hardware now adorn the two windows.

Still deciding on paint colors for the walls so for now, that's all folks!

As always, feel free to leave a comment or ask questions in the comments section below.

    1. Thanks Kris! I feel like I'm back in college with a big project due! Trying to get as much done in the beginning so I'm not cramming at the end (don't want to be pulling an all-nighter! ;-)
